So, last weekend, we went to Cashiers, North Carolina for our 2nd Annual Tailgate in the Mountains. Last year, we started this tradition of a weekend getaway with our tailgating group. This year, we returned to Fern Bank Cottage, nestled on Lake Glenville, in Cashiers. The night we arrived (Valentine's Day), we all had dinner at Paoletti's (Italian Restaurant) in Highlands, North Carolina. This was a very romantic dinner and was enjoyed by all. At dinner, one of the couples announced that they were expecting their first child--Congratulations Abbie and Jonathan!! Then the boys all announced that they had arranged a day at the Hampton Health Club for all of the girls! Friday, the girls arrived at the Spa, which was opened just for our group and is usually only available to members of the High Hampton Inn and Country Club. The guys paid for the services and then took off for a day of golf at the High Hampton Inn. Jesse even paid for smoothies for us all since we were going to be there during lunch! (how sweet!!! Gotta love the big man!) Following the day at the spa, we all returned home and got ready for dinner at The Brown Trout (a restaurant in Sapphire, North Carolina). Dinner, again, was fabulous! We then returned back to the cabin for a night by the fire. Sleeping in on Saturday morning was not an option for Jesse and I. We cooked a big Country Breakfast for the entire gang! After that, we went our separate ways-the boys went to the store and the girls went shopping. Dinner that night was cooked by the men (minus Jesse, who was asleep)-we had steaks, twice baked potatoes, Feta topped tomatoes and green bean bundles--YUMMM!! The rest of the evening was spent by the bonfire at the edge of the lake. I am including pictures so that you can all see the beauty of Lake Glenville and the cabin where we stayed. I can't wait to go back next year!
